I though about this cartoon today for some odd reason, I haven't seen it since I was a kid. Sure enough it's on youtube.

Hmm! I don't recall ever seeing that one. Did you have the...well...for lack of a better name, reading machine from Mcraw-Hill? They used it on us in like maybe 3rd and 4th grades or so. Basically it was a projector that would display the text of a story in a configurable format...I guess it was microfilm perhaps, because I recall it had these little cartridges that fit into it. Anyway, they could set it to scan several lines at a time, one line at a time, or even just a certain size window scrolling across each line, and they could vary the advance speed. I guess they were trying to teach us to read better, or faster, or something. I don't know if it worked, if it was common, and/or if it or something like it is still used today.
